Have you all heard about Read Across Oklahoma?
It's an event for the children from preschool to early grade school levels. All thanks to the Oklahoma Department of Libraries for getting this event together. This year it was on a Tuesday, April 11th, 2023 at the Oklahoma City Zoo and Botanical Gardens! This year's theme was Hats Off To Reading, with the featured children book called This is a Hat by a very kind author and illustrator Betty Selakovich Casey.
After a meet and greet we headed over to the Elephant Pavilion.

We've had the honor to be part of this fun event. It's my first time attending!

The elephants over to our right showed up to say, "hi!"
After a tiny chant from the kids, "ELEPHANT ELEPHANT ELEPHANT" we continued on with the book.

Betty read the book to several groups that day.
